Shanghai Pudong International Airport is the busiest international hub in China, with half of its passenger traffic consisting of international travelers. With more international routes reopening after the pandemic, both flights and passenger volumes are increasing. To meet the faster and more convenient operational needs of the airport, SITA has deployed 52 self-service check-in kiosks and 14 self-service luggage storage devices throughout the airport, making it convenient for international passengers to check in and check in their luggage independently before the counters open. This not only avoids long queues for passengers, but also avoids congestion and provides a seamless check-in and identity verification experience.

Next, SITA will collaborate with Pudong Airport to enhance end-to-end self-service and support the airport's digital transformation strategy through a low contact, secure environment.

Sumesh Patel, President of SITA Asia Pacific, said, "With the booming development of global air travel, the number of airport passengers has surged. The demand for technology to accelerate boarding processes, reduce delays, and alleviate passenger congestion is increasing. Through this cooperation, Pudong Airport can utilize SITA's leading self-service solutions to simplify the journey of international passengers at Pudong Airport. As always, we are committed to optimizing the global passenger experience through excellent technology driven solutions
